“I worked with Harper to bring her in a virtual keynote session to my company in celebration of Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). When we first met her, we truly believed that she has a unique story to share. Working with her to organize the session was smooth and easy because Harper communicates clearly and effectively with proficiency. When she shared her story with our employees at our event, everyone was moved by her vulnerability. Harper also led us through self-exploratory writing exercises that helped us explore our relationship with disabilities and accessibility which I think moved everyone and brought awareness to disability and accessibility, which was the goal of our event. We thank Harper for helping us accomplish our goal and for sharing her story which touched the hearts of many. I highly recommend working with Harper for any related subjects—she’s a gem!”

“We recently launched a new Business Resource Group called PossAbilities, dedicated to the advocacy and enrichment of employees who are differently abled, both visibly and otherwise.
Harper was an exceptional thought leader and guide in this endeavor. She collaborated with us to ensure we understood the charter of the group, how most effectively to get it off the ground and, most importantly, to ensure it was a safe space for our many employees who expressed interest. She was also able to conduct a capability session for our employees called, “Making the Invisible Visible,” which empowered our employees to hear and (in some cases) share their invisible illness stories. I hope we continue on our journey with Harper. She made a tremendous impact with our employees and one we would like to continue to build upon.”

“My experience with Harper was nothing short of amazing. Harper has a way of connecting with people in a genuine way that makes even introverts like me comfortable. I loved speaking with Harper about my journey with invisible illness – and speaking about my invisible illness is not always an easy thing to do, especially when others don’t understand what it’s like. But Harper does, and that makes all the difference in the world.”

“The Made Visible Writing Class will always rank as one of the top three most impactful experiences of my life. It pushed me to find my voice, embrace my health story and start taking back my power with my pen (and keyboard). Harper is an outstanding teacher and mentor, who pours her heart and soul into each session. It’s more than a writing class, it’s a very intimate exploration of identity, stories and the possibilities for creating change through art. This class is the match that will light your flame. Best investment I ever made.”

“Harper's course changed my relationship to writing. Before I took this course, I had no sense of my personal writing style or of what it would take to be published. Through class exercises, incredible peer-to-peer feedback, and hearing from published authors on their experiences, these 12 weeks have emboldened me to take my writing to the next level. Not only do I feel more confident in my skills, but I have also formed a lasting writers' network with others in the course. This is the course for you if you're new, intermediate or advanced to writing; this is the course for you if you're struggling to put your experiences with chronic illness on the page; and this is the course for you if you truly want to invest in developing your writing talents. Harper has created something magical and it's a pleasure to take part in it.”

“When I first started Harper's class, I had a story to tell, but no idea how to tell it. Through listening to guest teachers, writing essays, and giving and receiving feedback, I was able to find my voice and put my thoughts, feelings, and stories into words. I'm so thankful to Harper for helping me access the creativity in me.”

“Made Visible Writing Class does exactly what you think it would: if you are invisibly ill, chronically ill and/or disabled, it will make YOU and YOUR STORY visible. You may have never written about your experience with illness or you may be a professional writer on a different topic, like I have been my entire life, before you start the class. But I can promise you that when you are done, you will walk out of this experience a new person. You will gain confidence in the fact that you are worthy and in that the world deserves to hear your story. You will learn to proudly call yourself a writer, no matter where you are in your now very visible journey.”

“The Made Visible Writing Class was the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel called 2020. I was able to connect with writers across the country and grow from our shared experiences. It had been so long since I heard the words “I understand” and knew that the person saying them really did. Living with an invisible illness is a constant challenge and writing about my experiences in a workshop setting was not only cathartic, but a hallmark experience.”

“Harper is not only a wonderful facilitator but a true connoisseur of writing in this creative niche. Her 12-week writing course helped me discover nuances of my own style and connect with people in this space. Anyone who is interested in writing about their health story, or simply learning to find their voice in a world that tells us we are too flawed or broken to speak up, should work with Harper!”
