Intro to Narrative Medicine Workshop
June 16, 2021
$75
In this workshop, you will be introduced to the Narrative Medicine Workshop, a close reading and writing practice that uses art and writing to help us reflect and heal. The workshop is led by Maya Sorini, an experienced Narrative Medicine facilitator and former teaching faculty in Columbia’s Narrative Medicine Master’s program.
The workshop will start with a centering writing prompt, followed by group close reading of a short text, discussion of that text, close looking at a piece of art, and discussion of that art.
No literary or art training is required, our looking and discussion are focused on noticing and feeling! After our discussion, we will conclude with a reflective writing prompt, sharing is encouraged but not required.
No prep work is needed.
Join the workshop with a pen and paper, or if it’s easier for you to type/record voice messages, that works too!
